Britten Thompson

Who is Britten? She's a reticent little beast born in the wilds of Northern Alberta to a foul-mouthed, French-Canadian father and an angry, stiff-upper-lipped mother. Britten is, almost always, wild-haired and poorly dressed. She recently left the beautiful and untamed chill of Canada for the blistering warmth of Australia.

Her list of pastimes is short and includes reading, writing, petting cats, overeating and alphabetizing things. She's a fan of Windex on Facebook because who doesn't want a streak free shine? She dreams of one day writing a super-awesome novel that affords her and her partner a comfortable lifestyle, a large property and a few horses...or just becoming a red panda.

When Britten isn't writing, reading, or organizing things in her home, she can be found cuddling with her boyfriend, arguing about why Rajon Rondo is the best point guard in the history of ever, browsing Gumtree for a future cat or kitten, or contemplating days gone by, the passage of time and how ridiculous it is that humans have yet to evolve enough to grow a third set of teeth.

Joss MaGill

Once upon a time I was a Graphic Designer & a Visual Merchandiser living in the city, working hard & playing hard (ok for a while there ‘playing’ meant gorging on junk food & smoking ciggies not heaps of cool parties). As I got older & possibly wiser my health became more of a priority for me & that focus has grown into more of a passion.

These days I live at the beach with my partner, little dog, worm farm & Toby the scobie who lives in a jar on top of the fridge. I work part-time as a Health Consultant and I recently qualified as a Body Therapist specialising in Holistic Massage. I also have a home-based business called Press Pause where I offer treatments including Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Hot Stones & Swedish Massage.

Essential Oils are my favourite & I love finding out new things about them. It’s fascinating to me that just one little oil can help in 50 different ways. It is beyond awesome to help others feel better both physically & emotionally and that’s what I strive to do with each massage I give.

Gitta Hodgetts

I grew up in a small town in rural Victoria. I have two older sisters & one amazing dad. I loved the country life – being able to walk everywhere, seeing the stars at night & knowing the faces of all the people in the main street. I moved to the city to make something special of myself & I have no intentions of going back until I achieve just that.

I dream of being a novelist, writing stories that people the world over will dive inside, on the bad days, & the good.

In my opinion, art is one of the most important things in life. It’s beautiful, fragile, inspiring, strength inducing & quite often the only thing that gets me out of bed in the morning. I am a defender of true art, sell out cliche’s bore me to tears & frustrate me in general. Mostly because lots of people make money out of it, & it’s already been done one thousand times over. At the end of the day my philosophy is – if the art is making people happy, it’s doing its job, regardless of cliches. Having said that, I always approach my writing with the following quote in mind:

“Art means nothing, if it simply occupies the table of power which holds it hostage” – Adrienne Rich.

Mainly the sum total of who I am is a writer. It’s what I do and if someone asked me to describe myself in one word – that would be it. Writer. The list of writers that inspire me is endless but the main ones areJ.K. Rowling, Stephen King, Charles Bukowski, Michael Biondi & my dad.

Erin Webster

As a mother of four young children, I strive to make the right choices and hope for positive outcomes with regards to my decisions. Some days, because I am human, I feel I fall short. One true testament to wanting the best for my family is by sharing my knowledge as a doTERRA Wellness Advocate and incorporating those ideals into our home.

As an elementary educator, I saw the good and the bad that life has to offer some of the youth of today. I am proud that educators always long for the best for their students. I know I treated my students as if they were my own children. Since I am fortunate enough to now raise my family full time, I am happy to send them to school with an arsenal of immunity enhancing doTERRA benefits.

I believe in the benefits linked to proper use of therapeutic grade essential oils. I believe in my family. I believe in myself.

Emma Amilie von Staffeldt

Daugther, mother, wife & young woman living out her purpose through gardening & homesteading. My search for finding natural solutions has always been big.

Together with my family I am trying to create a space of love. A place where we can live from the produce that we grow & the creations that we build. In honor of our family I created Self-sufficient Kin. Here we aspire to share our knowledge on creating a sustainable family domain. A motherland that will be a true testament to who we were and what we created.
